Heian Ryu Karate Group (HRKG) is a multi traditional style association which was formed in 1988 by Chief Instructor Sensei Barry Nash. The association attained official recognition in 1990 when accepted by the English Karate Governing Body (EKGB)

In the first instance the association was formed on a concept of providing a small friendly association for the professional development of its member clubs.

Because of the quality and affordability of the services offered by the association its reputation has grown which has resulted in a substantial increase in membership numbers.

The association represents a good number of clubs spread throughout the UK.

Over the years champions of all levels have been trained in our clubs.

The association is a member of  the newly formed English Karate Federation.

All the association instructors are officially qualified and recognised as such.

The association has its own national squad aimed at the development of competitors for both national and international events.

Referees courses are also provided for those wishing to achieve official refereeing qualifications.

The association has two officially recognised Instructor Assessors, a fully qualified Chief Referee and a National Squad Team Coach.

Heian Ryu Karate Group welcomes application for membership from traditional style Karate Clubs and also from smaller associations who wish to apply for associate membership.
